INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

In accordance with the "Principles Regarding the Admission of Students from Abroad" of the Council of Higher Education; people who fall under the following categories will be able to submit an application.

1.1 Candidates whose applications to be accepted

a) Provided that they are in the final year of high school or have already graduated, and have completed the entirety of their secondary education abroad;

1) Foreign nationals, on the condition that they have not studied or graduated from secondary education (high school) institutions in Türkiye
(except for foreign nationals who have completed their entire high school education in embassy schools or international private educational institutions listed in the MOBİS system, as well as those who came to Türkiye projects conducted by the Ministry of National Education or the Council of Higher Education).

2)Those who were Turkish citizens by birth but have renounced Turkish citizenship with official permission from the Ministry of Interior, and those who can document that they hold a Blue Card granted upon request to individuals who have lost Turkish citizenship
(provided that they have not studied or graduated from secondary education institutions in Türkiye or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC)).
(Applicants are advised to review Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901 when applying under international student quotas.)

3)Individuals who were foreign nationals but later acquired Turkish citizenship, including those holding dual citizenship under this status
(provided that they have not studied or graduated from secondary education institutions in Türkiye or the TRNC).

4)Turkish citizens who have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than the TRNC,
(including those who have completed their education in Turkish schools established abroad under the Ministry of National Education).

5)Citizens of the TRNC, provided that they have not studied or graduated from high schools in Türkiye or from TRNC high schools applying the Turkish curriculum, and that they possess one of the following qualifications: GCE AL results, TR-YÖS results, or Other criteria specified in the application and admission regulations approved by the Council of Higher Education.

       1.2.Candidates whose applications will not be accepted

  1. Turkish citizens who have completed their entire secondary education (high school) in Türkiye or the TRNC,
  2. Citizens of the TRNC or dual nationals with one citizenship being TRNC,
    (except for those who have completed their entire high school education in TRNC high schools and have obtained or will obtain GCE AL results, or TRNC citizens who have completed their entire high school education abroad and possess TR-YÖS or other criteria approved by the Council of Higher Education).
  3. Dual nationals who are Turkish citizens by birth, as defined in Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901
    (except those who meet the conditions stated in subparagraph (a)(4)).
  4. Turkish citizens or dual nationals (whose initial citizenship is Turkish by birth) who have studied in embassy schools in Türkiye or in foreign high schools located in Türkiye,
  5. a) Citizens of the TRNC and individuals who have renounced Turkish citizenship / Blue Card holders who have studied or graduated from secondary education institutions in Türkiye or the TRNC,

b) Foreign nationals who have studied or graduated from secondary education institutions in Türkiye
(except for those who have completed their entire high school education in embassy schools or international private educational institutions listed in the MOBİS system, as well as those who came to Türkiye projects conducted by the Ministry of National Education or the Council of Higher Education).
